lightthiscandle: 10/26/64: “Birthday Dinner: Astronaut Russell Schweickart mixes up a batch of grape juice, space style, for a birthday snack on his 29th birthday yesterday in Houston, He blew out the candle of the cake but couldn’t eat any of it because of the space food experiment. He was zipped inside the Gemini space suit last Monday and takes it off today.” (And yes, Schweickart was kept inside of a Gemini space suit for eight days.) Happy birthday, Rusty! Happy 17th birthday, Rusty!
